Species Report – White -tailed Deer
Framing Statement: This is one of the three major writing assignments for the lab portion of the BIO 104 class. For this project, we were required to chose a species that lives in Maine and compose a report that tells the reader about the organism. When finished, the class came together to assemble a food web incorporating our researched organisms.
Strengths and Weaknesses: My strongest point in this assignment was my ability to incorporate research from other scientists concerning the effect of urbanization on my species, the White-tailed Deer. I was also required to justify the validity of each source I utilized to write this paper. It was difficult to put into words why we can trust government websites and scientific journals.
